Walking the path together

A Sangha is a community of practitioners who serve as mirrors for one another. We provide a space for connection that goes beyond social interaction. This is a support system for those committed to the path of Zen, fostering an environment of shared accountability, humanity, and heart.

Community Ambassadors

The Entry Point to Mastery.

In the Mind Light Way, the Sangha is the living body of our practice. To be a Community Ambassador is to move from personal practice to collective service. It is the formal entry point into the Path to Mastery—our Zen Master training program—and represents a clear intention to eventually share these teachings with the world.

Serving the Sangha

An Ambassador acts as an agent of harmony within our community. By training the mind and embodying the Zen Art Center’s values, you serve as a bridge between the tradition and the modern world. This role is for those who recognize that their own clarity is a gift to be shared.

The Commitment

Becoming an Ambassador marks the beginning of formal training under Zen Master Sebastian Rizzon. This path requires presence, integrity, stewardship, and intention.

Walk the Path

The Path to Mastery begins with the simple act of showing up for others. By stepping into the role of Community Ambassador, you take ownership of your development and commit to uplifting humanity through the lens of Zen.

Ceremonies & Special Events

Marking the Rhythms of Life.

At the Zen Art Center, we use ceremony to anchor our practice in the seasons of the year and the milestones of our lives. These gatherings are more than tradition; they are somatic markers that help us transition from one state of being to the next with clarity and heart.

Seasonal & Holiday Observances

We honor the natural cycles of the year through collective action:

  • New Year’s Transition: 108 bows and chanting to clear the mind for the year ahead.

  • Winter Solstice: A practice of stillness and light during the year's deepest dark.

  • Traditional Zen Holidays: Celebrations that connect us to the lineage and history of the Dharma.

Rites of Passage & Creative Rituals

Beyond the calendar, we provide space for the sacred in the everyday:

  • Marriages & Unions: Zen-based ceremonies that focus on truth, presence, and the union of two paths.

  • Zen Calligraphy: Meditative sessions where the brush becomes an extension of the breath.

  • Chanting & Sound: Vocal practices designed to regulate the nervous system and harmonize the Sangha.

Note: These special events and ceremonies are held exclusively for our Member Sangha.
