The Sangha

A Community of Clarity

Zen is not meant to be practiced in isolation. A Sangha is a community of practitioners who serve as mirrors for one another—supporting each other as we move from confusion to clarity. Whether you are here for a single breath or a lifelong commitment, welcome to the Mind Light Way.

Our Schedule

Open to Everyone

The Zen Art Center is a public sanctuary. We invite you to join us for our regular creative and meditative activities. No membership or prior experience is required to begin:

  • Dharma Talks & Meditation: Direct teachings and guided focus sessions. These classes are free and open to all.

  • Zen Writing & Art Groups: Using creative expression as a meditative tool. The sessions are free and open to all.

  • Stress Management Workshops: Practical tools for nervous system regulation. This is a donation based workshop. All are welcome.

  • Zen for Kids: Building resilience and awareness in the next generation. This is a paid curriculum. Learn more.

  • Reflective Divination: One-on-one clarity sessions. These sessions are paid. All the proceeds go to the Mind Light Way school of Zen.

Three women and one man, dressed in white and black, are in a gallery, bowing with hands together in a prayerful gesture, facing a table in front of a large artwork of a cosmic scene. The gallery has colorful abstract paintings, framed pictures, and photographs on white walls, and a dark textured floor.

Deepen Your Practice: The Member Sangha

While our daily doors are open to all, our Member Sangha is for those who wish to anchor their life in the rhythms of Zen. For $40/month, you sustain the physical sanctuary of the Zen Art Center and gain access to the heart of our communal life.

Member-Only Ceremonies & Events:

  • Seasonal Rituals: New Year’s 108 bows, Winter Solstice, and chanting circles.

  • Traditional Observances: Rites of passage and holidays within the Zen lineage.

  • Member Gallery: The opportunity to share your creative practice in our physical and digital galleries.

Rites of Passage & Creative Rituals

Beyond the calendar, we provide space for the sacred in the everyday:

  • Marriages & Unions: Zen-based ceremonies for the union of two paths.

  • Zen Calligraphy: Meditative sessions where the brush is an extension of the breath.

  • Chanting & Sound: Designed to regulate the nervous system and open the heart.

Note: These special events and ceremonies are held exclusively for our Member Sangha.

The Path To Mastery

Lead the way: Community Ambassadors

The Entry Point to Mastery.

In the Mind Light Way, the Sangha is the living body of our practice. To be a Community Ambassador is to move from personal practice to collective service. It is the formal entry point into the Path to Mastery—our Zen Master training program—and represents a clear intention to eventually share these teachings with the world.

Serving the Sangha

An Ambassador acts as an agent of harmony within our community. By training the mind and embodying the Zen Art Center’s values, you serve as a bridge between the tradition and the modern world. This role is for those who recognize that their own clarity is a gift to be shared.

Walk The Path

Becoming an Ambassador marks the beginning of formal training under Zen Master Sebastian Rizzon. This path requires presence, integrity, stewardship, and intention.

The Path to Mastery begins with the simple act of showing up for others. By stepping into the role of Community Ambassador, you take ownership of your development and commit to uplifting humanity through the lens of Zen.
