Zen Master Sebastian Rizzon

My art and writing spring from the emptiness that precedes each word and line. As a Zen master, I study the mind not only as the ground of awareness, but as the source of all creation. Poetry is not a product of the mind, but a direct channel into it — something we access through meditation, mindfulness, and connection with the creative energy of love that unites us all.

Zen is a path of open inquiry and experiential wisdom. It welcomes all people — regardless of background or belief — into a direct relationship with their own mind and the unfolding moment. My creative work is an extension of this practice: a way of translating the inexpressible into form through vivid imagery, metaphor, and beauty. It is also a form of teaching — showing how inspiration arises through meditative practice, and how the written word or a work of art can become a mirror for the mind.

At the heart of my work is a desire to explore and share the internal landscape we all experience — to reveal how our common inner world, when expressed through art and poetry, becomes a wellspring of compassion. I believe that the beautiful expression of love and shared experience is among the most powerful antidotes to the suffering and alienation so prevalent in our society. Through our words, our creativity, and presence in each moment, we are reminded that we are not separate — and that insight becomes the root of transformation.
